Raising a Compassionate Child
Raising A Compassionate Child
We all want our children to be kind and compassionate. I have listed below some small actions you can do with your child that will help them understand the importance of making people feel better and at the same time make the world we live in a better place.
1. Go on a Walk, Run or Bike to support and raise money for the charity of your choice.
2. Have your child help deliver a meal or make a call and/or send a note to a family member or friend who is sick.
3. Talk to your child about donating a portion of their birthday gifts or allowance to a charity that is important to them. Have a conversation about what the charity does and how it helps to make the world better. Involve them in the decision about which charity they want to support.
4. The easiest way to teach your child about empathy and caring is when you model that behavior. When we lead by example our children will learn that compassion and concern for our world and others are values that are essential. Small acts can become large acts as our children grow.
